Who is Reeze? Career and milestones

Reeze, whose legal name is Dominik Reezmann, was born on November 5, 1993 in Stuttgart and grew up in a German-Croatian family in the Swabia region. After finishing his Abitur (the German high school diploma) in 2013, he started studying computer science, later switched to business informatics and worked as a project manager at a web agency at the same time.

His creator career started in an unusual way: before he stepped in front of the camera himself, he worked as a chat moderator for Papaplatte. There he not only learned the streaming business from scratch, but also formed the friendship that would later lead to the Edeltalk podcast.

The early years (1993–2017)

Reeze describes his childhood as carefree and happy. His school career was “a bit bumpy”, but still ended with the Abitur in 2013. Afterwards, he first studied computer science in Stuttgart and later switched to business informatics in Stuttgart/Hohenheim. Alongside his studies, he was already working as a project manager at a web agency – experience that later helped him build his creator career.

Getting into the creator world (2015–2018)

In 2015, Reeze made his first attempts on YouTube, and from 2017 he started streaming on Twitch – irregularly at first. During this time, he got to know Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller and worked as his chat moderator. When he applied to be a moderator for Papaplatte, he sent a detailed CV and a formal cover letter – typical Reeze!

Breakthrough with Edeltalk (2018–2020)

The big breakthrough came with the launch of Edeltalk in 2018. The weekly podcast with Papaplatte quickly became one of the most popular formats in the German streaming scene. At the same time, the podcast Café Alman with Henke and Niklas started. From early 2019, Reeze streamed regularly on Twitch.

Full-time creator and Cologne (2020–2021)

In 2020, Reeze decided to focus on streaming, dropped out of university and launched his current YouTube channel in July 2020. In February 2021, he joined the Cologne-based management company Newbase GmbH, and in mid-2021 he moved from Stuttgart to Cologne. Since August 2021, he has officially been a full-time content creator.

Established and successful (2022–2026)

The following years brought a string of successes: the Edeltalk book became a bestseller (2022), Edeltour 2 won a StreamAward (2023), the 7 vs. Wild win (2023), joining Craft Attack (2023), Edeltalk being produced for funk (2024), hosting the Comedy Clash (since 2025) and Edeltour 4 through the UK and Ireland (July 2025).

Even though they had no survival experience and were considered underdogs, they lasted the full 14 days and became one of three winning teams – alongside Hannah Assil & Affe auf Bike and Knossi & Sascha Huber. Although they had almost nothing to eat (just a few berries), they showed tremendous perseverance and became the community’s “winners of hearts”.
