The Biggest German Minecraft YouTubers

A number of German YouTubers have built a huge reach with Minecraft. Here’s an overview of ten of the biggest German Minecraft YouTubers: how long they’ve been around, which series made them famous and what age their videos suit. We update the figures in the ranking automatically every week – and show how much Minecraft these creators actually make today. All of these channels are in German.

Live ranking: subscribers, growth and Minecraft share

The Minecraft share shows how many of the videos uploaded to the main YouTube channel over the last 90 days were Minecraft videos. Some of the “biggest Minecraft YouTubers” now mostly play other games – the individual profiles are worth a look.

Gronkh

German YouTuber Gronkh (Erik Range) is considered a pioneer of the German Let’s Play scene. His main channel has 5.04M subscribers.
He became famous for his Minecraft Let’s Play, which ran from 2010 to 2014 and has 1,278 episodes – for many of today’s adults in Germany, it was their introduction to Minecraft. According to his channel description, new episodes have come out daily since April 1, 2010. Today, though, Gronkh plays almost only other games: role-playing, survival and horror games, plus livestreams on Twitch and his fantasy world HORDE.
For parents: Many of the games he currently plays are rated 16 or 18 (USK; roughly PEGI 16/18 or ESRB M), and his humor is grown-up. For younger kids, his old Minecraft Let’s Play is the better choice.

Paluten

Paluten (Patrick Mayer) has been making YouTube videos since 2012 and has 5.78M subscribers – the biggest channel in this ranking.
His series Minecraft Freedom (380 episodes, 2015–2017), built around his mascot Edgar the pig, is legendary. It led to a bestselling German book series – volume 13 comes out on October 23, 2026 – and a Freedom movie announced for 2027. In March 2026, Paluten announced that he would slow down and upload less often. He is on the participant list of Craft Attack 14.
For parents: Creative, harmless stories and simulator games, suitable from around age 8. Some reaction videos show clips with higher age ratings.

He is known for German records such as 354,000 concurrent live viewers and for gaming songs like “Skybase”. In 2026, almost everything on his channel is about Roblox; in October 2026 he even launched his own Roblox game, “Save The Egg”. Minecraft currently plays only a small role.

With 4.33M subscribers, iCrimax (Maximilian Schuster) is one of the biggest German gaming creators. His channel started in December 2013.

Away from YouTube, he has his own lemonade brand PAULBERGER (since November 2023), three books and the Minecraft server BlockBande. These days he livestreams on Kick instead of Twitch.

He has also published his own books, and his comic “Mein Freund Boom und der Knochenbaron” comes out on October 23, 2026.

For parents: Funny and among friends, but some games (GTA, TTT, horror) carry higher age ratings. Better from around age 12 – check titles first.

For parents: which channels suit which age?

These age recommendations are our own assessment based on current videos – not an official rating. It’s best to watch the first few videos together with your child.

A few points apply to almost every channel:

• All videos are in German. Many creators promote their own merch, books or drinks – talk to your child about the fact that this is advertising.
• Livestreams are unedited. More can happen there than in a finished video, and strangers write in the chat.
• Not every video is Minecraft. The Minecraft share in the ranking tells you whether a channel still makes Minecraft at all. For channels with little Minecraft, it’s worth picking out Minecraft series specifically.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the biggest German Minecraft YouTuber?

Measured by subscribers, Paluten leads our ranking: his channel has 5.78M subscribers. He became famous for his Minecraft series “Freedom” (2015–2017), which grew into a book series and a movie announced for 2027. Gronkh shaped the German Minecraft scene from 2010 onward, but hardly plays Minecraft today.

Which Minecraft YouTubers are suitable for kids?

The most kid-friendly are Arazhul (from around age 6, although his channel has been inactive since December 2025), AviveHD, Alphastein and Paluten (each from around age 8). BastiGHG suits kids from around 10. Gronkh plays many games rated 16 or 18 and is more for teens.

Which German YouTuber still makes the most Minecraft videos?

Of the ten creators in the ranking, BastiGHG and AviveHD focus most on Minecraft: recently 100% of BastiGHG’s videos were Minecraft, and 59% of AviveHD’s. Gronkh, PietSmiet and StandartSkill, on the other hand, now play almost only other games.

Does Gronkh still play Minecraft?

Hardly. His famous Minecraft Let’s Play ran from 2010 to 2014 and has 1,278 episodes. Today his main channel publishes daily Let’s Plays of other games, such as role-playing and survival games.

Which big Minecraft YouTubers are taking part in Craft Attack 14?

From this ranking, Paluten, iCrimax, BastiGHG, rewinside and Alphastein are on the official participant list of Craft Attack 14, which started on October 10, 2026. PietSmiet and AviveHD are not taking part this time.

Conclusion

Germany’s Minecraft scene on YouTube is varied – and it has changed. Pioneers like Gronkh and PietSmiet hardly play Minecraft anymore, while BastiGHG and AviveHD still make almost nothing but Minecraft. Paluten turned his Minecraft series into books and a movie, and with Craft Attack 14, many of the big names are back together on one server right now. For kids, AviveHD, Alphastein, Paluten and – with his older videos – Arazhul are the best fit.
