A 2017 GameStar report offered a rare glimpse: the company that runs the server, IndieLemon GmbH, reported total assets of around €1.1 million and a balance-sheet profit of just over €0.5 million for 2015. GameStar stresses, however, that a balance-sheet profit is not the same as actual profit – let alone one person’s income.
